By Monday morning (2 days post-incident) my ankle was feeling much better so with the wind blowing hard I made the request for a last minute swap of my morning off and hot footed it to Shoreham. On arrival it was proper honking so rigged 4.5 and for the first half-hour all was good. Perfectly powered and sailing well I was loving being out in the full on conditions with plentiful jumps, planing gybes and even the occasional backside bum-wiggle being scored. Playtime however was curtailed when the heavens opened making sailing uncomfortable and often painful forcing all but a mad few off the water to run for cover. The rain didn't ever clear completely so I never got back into my comfort zone and consequently quits was called slightly earlier than planned. A shame but the good bit at the start made the session well worth the effort. Turns out I may well have caught the best of it as the rain did not stop all afternoon and some were rigging sub-4.0s as I left!
